Karate for Kids & Teens
Benefits of Karate Classes for Teens
Kaicho David Farzinzad developed the kids and teen karate program to help children and teens ages 9-15 to improve their strength, flexibility and endurance. Your children will learn to concentrate and focus as well as gain a new sense of respect for others. The knowledge they gain is based on the values and principles taught by Mas Oyama the founder of Kyokushin karate.
The program provides a social alternative to many teen activities today that is both positive and healthy. It's been shown that teenagers who engage in Karate are motivated to attend classes regularly where they interact with other positive-thinking students. A strong interest in a properly structured karate program can help your child move from childhood to maturity and gain the desired physical fitness while at the same time helping them develp their focus and discipline.
Provide Your Child With A Solid Foundation
Teens are faced with many stresses in life such as bullying, homework, peer pressure and even personal safety at school. Cell phones and texting have changed the way teens communicate with each other and their parents. Your child's need for exercise has not decreased, yet most kids these days are preoccupied with other things and don't often exercise. In addition, there's not a more important time for your child to develop confidence, a sense of self and a high self-esteem to ensure their ability fight the inevitable peer pressure that they will have to deal with. Their increased sense of self and their ability to defend themselves will help protect them against bullying and other negative influences such as drinking alcohol and using illicit drugs.
Karate teaches basic self-defense which provides them with the confidence, strength and skills necessary to care for themselves in a physical confrontation. The physical fitness benefits help teens both physically and mentally. Finally, Karate training is exciting and motivating which helps keep the teen engaged, builds confidence, instills healthy habits and teaches them respect for themselves and others.
We want each student's experience in karate to be a positive one. We encourage everyone to visit our dojo and try a class at no charge.
